FoundHer
Where you can find work that works for you.
1
Who is your target customer?
We will be targeting women who want to join the workforce for the first time, rejoin the workforce, or change their current job.

To cater to the niche needs of these Indian women, our go to market strategy includes onboarding micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in highly populated communities. We aim to take a grassroots approach and source jobs hyper-locally. This is different from our direct competitors, including LinkedIn, which is used dominantly by larger corporates in India and leaves a significant portion of the MSME job market untapped

How big is your market?
Our B2C target is the 170 million women living in urban cities in India, of which 109 million are currently searching for jobs. While our goal is to reach all 170 million women, we will initially focus on the latter. If we can convert even 15% of these women into paid customers at $5.99 per month for an unlimited subscription, our yearly revenue will be $1.17 billion. If we are able to achieve full penetration of the 109 million women, our yearly revenue will be $7.8 billion.

On the B2B side, we will focus on the 23.7 million businesses in urban India, out of the total 63.39 million enterprises. According to LinkedIn data, there are approximately 500,000 new job listings each week in India, though this is a conservative estimate as we will also target smaller and medium-sized businesses currently not on LinkedIn. Our pricing model averages to $5 per job listing, leading to an estimated yearly revenue of $120 billion if all job listings are converted to our platform. If we are able to convert just 15% of weekly job postings to our platform, our estimated yearly revenue is $18 billion.

What is FoundHer?
An average person spends 24 weeks looking for a job, and over 50% of their awake hours at work. Hence finding the right job is definitely a life-altering process, but traditional recruitment platforms are not built to cater to the unique needs of Indian women. You can filter by location and industry, but existing platforms overlook factors that women weigh strongly - things like number of female co-workers at the office, whether the work requires being available outside of 9-5, and factors as basic as access to clean bathrooms. This leads to inefficient job matches, high levels of workplace dissatisfaction, and labor force dropout rates.
On the flip side, hiring in India remains incredibly costly due to reliance on manual screening. Hiring teams waste crucial man-hours filtering through an influx of applications and produce high churn-rates due to misfits of work needs.
To solve this, we are building FoundHer - a platform where women find work that works for them. Using AI/ML technology, FoundHer matches women with job opportunities that are a good fit for them based on both qualifications and their personalized needs. We collect data from women that goes beyond their resume, and data from employers that go beyond their job descriptions. We then use these exclusive data points to create efficient and focused matches. The platform also leverages the power of crowd-sourced reviews, providing women with an inside look at potential employers from the perspective of women who work there so applicants can make informed decisions about the workplaces they are committing to.
We believe that financial independence is a prerequisite for overall empowerment, and we are driven to create a product that improves women’s access to fulfilling and financially rewarding job opportunities for them.

Why is now the best time for this product?
A World Bank report of 2021 stated that India is amongst the lowest female labour force participation rates (FLFPRs) in the world. This is a drag on the nation’s GDP growth and an obstacle towards achieving a high growth path. The McKinsey Global Institute report 2016 estimates that by increasing gender workplace ratios, India can add $700 billion to the global GDP. India has recently started approaching stage 3 of the demographic transition model, and it is more essential than ever for the country to improve its FLFPR in order to sustainably meet economic growth goals.

Additionally, after the Digital India campaign was launched by the Indian Government, the nation has drastically improved access to internet connectivity. Today, 700 million people in India have access to online infrastructure, of which one-third are women. This allows us to make our product mainstream - an unprecedented opportunity.
Hence, the growing need of women in the workforce is the problem we’re trying to cater to, and the new digitalization of India allows us to facilitate our solution.
